Vacancy : Supply Chain Engineer

Purchases materials, parts, supplies and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures, and optimizing price, delivery and terms. Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts & supplies, for an engineered products organization by performing the following duties.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares bid requests, reviews requisition and confers with Vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Plans together with works preparation the buying for projects and confers with department supervisors to determine requirements for materials, parts and supplies.
Evaluates vendor quotations using appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, and scope of authority.
Sources and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
Conduct Supplier Evaluations following ISO guidelines
Maintaining the relevant data of Purchasing for Audit Purposes.
Participates in production, project and other procurement activities, working with various internal departments such as engineering, production, work preparation and after-sales
To translate agreed forecast & system generated demand into Purchase Orders.
To expedite all orders, communicating delays to all relevant parties. To maintain an up to date ‘over dues’ list.
To monitor Inventory levels, applying materials ‘strategy’ parameters, save where Master Planner agrees in the knowledge of customer demand, seasonality or market intelligence
To maintain accurate pricing and lead time information in ERP system
To gather supplier & market intelligence for consideration in forecast
Assist, contribute and participate, as necessary in the preparation of annual budgeting, capital planning and operations reports.
Manages all the Client and relevant Inter Company (IC) Orders with respect to technical documentation review along with Engineering, expediting with the production/operations team including detailed analysis of the production schedule and accordingly working with relevant parties to ensure timely deliveries of the Client orders.
Works on shipping and logistics requirement of the Client Orders i.e. preparation of relevant shipping documents required for shipping the orders.
Works on invoicing the Client orders by closing the goods receipt notes of the IC orders and submitting relevant documents along with IC invoices for billing purpose to Finance.
Maintains accurate information of all the orders on the backlog file required for Revenue recognition purpose.

Displays exceptional interpersonal skills, positively establishes relationships across multiple locations and copes well with working remotely from the team and other departments.
Communicates fluently (verbal and written) in English – essential, in Arabic – added advantage.
Possesses a valid Driving Licence converted for use in the Middle East – essential.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering / Diploma in mechanical engineering.
SAP or relevant experience working on ERP systems. SAP preferred.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work within a globally dispersed and diverse team
