The Senior Event Manager – EMEA works closely with the Head of EMEA Marketing and Regional Marketing Managers to define and execute the event strategy for the EMEA region. We are looking for an individual with great stakeholder management, tactical and executional skills that has experience navigating in-person, virtual and hybrid event environments.
The role is responsible for delivering the T. Rowe Price EMEA events strategy and ensuring that physical, virtual and hybrid events are planned and executed to the highest standards and in line with business objectives, in an innovative, competitive and efficient manner. This role will lead on and contribute to projects as well as managing and guiding the event team members.
We are looking for someone who will work closely with local marketers and central content teams to achieve a balance between in market and multi-regional events. This role would lead on the delivery of larger events in close collaboration with local marketers in country and provide guidance and support where needed for smaller-scale events.
The successful candidate will be able to identify new or enhanced event marketing tactics and understand the use of engagement tools to enhance the client experience and drive data. The Senior Event Manager for EMEA also leads the Investment Professional Marketing Time Coordination and undertakes several wider-ranging projects that support the enablement of marketing and events in the EMEA region. In addition to EMEA activities, this role will represent EMEA on the T. Rowe Price Global Event Community to advance our firm’s event experiences.
Contributes to the overall event strategy and responsible for planning, managing, and executing all elements of large, high-profile internal/external events in alignment with organizational policy and quality standards.
Leads events that are frequently complex in nature. Serves as project execution lead as required. Identifies and directs event marketing tactics and the use of engagement tools to enhance the client experience and drive data.
Applies broad industry experience, educates less experienced colleagues, and continues to develop industry experience.
Contributes to the development of the event planning and management strategy for the client segment/sub-region.
Reviews work completed by and provides coaching for less experienced professionals for accuracy and alignment with company standards and advises on improvements.
Responsible for the pan-regional event calendar leading events from conception through to completion in partnership with regional marketing team. Supports sub-regions in local activities where required from an SME standpoint during planning and execution.
Consults on event agendas and prepares and proofs written and graphic materials. Guides the client and key stakeholders to develop the event goal, responsibilities, budget, timeline, schedule, etc. Consults on approaches for achieving event goals and objectives
Applies specialised knowledge of industry trends and best practices to direct the development of the business unit/region event management and planning policies, standards, and strategy. Helps to identify new or enhanced event marketing tactics and the use of engagement tools to enhance the client experience and drive data. Acts as an SME on virtual and hybrid engagement tools and collaborates closely with Distribution & Marketing Enablement to implement these for EMEA. Attends industry and competitor events to gain insights and provide summary of findings to stakeholders.
Negotiates complex event contracts and responsible for expense management, budget reconciliation, and event analysis. Measures event participant/ invitee/stakeholder engagement and develops reports for management. Ensures the accurate execution of contracts in compliance with established agreements. Maintains relationships with preferred vendors and third-party event organisers.
Ensures compliance with financial reporting requirements. Oversees event budgets for specific client/sub-region and ensures compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements.
Leads the Investment Professional marketing time management function for EMEA, chairing monthly meetings, managing the request process and related data sources and works closely with regional marketing and head of EMEA marketing on allocating IP to sub-regions fairly and strategically.
Represents EMEA in global, firmwide forums such as the Event Community and on specific, role-related topics such as virtual tools, IP time, legal policy updates etc.
Serves as the escalation point for issues and roadblocks and escalates more severe issues to leadership. May be responsible for managing and developing a limited number of more junior associates and guides less experienced managers and professionals on all of the above.
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
8+ years of total relevant work experience
Good experience working across the EMEA region
Intellectual curiosity and knowledge of current trends in the Institutional/Wholesale marketplaces
Good knowledge of the event industry, new trends and technology
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Experience with virtual conference and webinar tools
Experience working with CRM databases and data management tools
Line management and coaching experience
Ability to lead project teams with diverse skills and priorities
A personal drive to impact business results
Strong interpersonal, organizational, prioritisation and time management skills
Strong and effective communication and presentation skills and experience interfacing with senior executives
Self-motivated, creative, responsible, with excellent attention to detail
