Position Summary
The Senior Director, Digital Strategy will be responsible for setting digital and social strategy across the Atlanta Falcons O&O properties.
Reporting to the SVP, Marketing Communications for AMB Sports & Entertainment (AMBSE), this position will drive cross-channel integration and planning for the Atlanta Falcons in order to engage and inspire Falcons fans and Mercedes-Benz Stadium visitors. He/she will oversee all owned platforms including web, digital , mobile, and social while developing clear, highly-engaging short and long-lead content strategy . Based inside Falcons headquarters in Flowery Branch, Georgia, but expected to spend time weekly inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, this position will also provide strategic digital and social guidance and partnership to multiple departments within the organization including ticket sales, corporate partnerships, marketing, community relations, fan engagement, etc.
Roles and Responsibilities
Set the vision and strategy for user / fan experience across all digital and social platforms.
Oversee all social / digital editorial calendar planning and innovative content ideation.
Spearhead the upcoming launch of a 10,000 square foot multi-platform content production facility currently being built inside Falcons headquarters
Create a content vision and culture that inspires the content team, and creates a synergy among teammates that raises the ideation and the execution.
Elevate Falcons social / digital engagement while actively engaging fans through all platforms.
Develop and oversee the execution of advanced paid social marketing strategies – both in content performance and ticket sales/lead generation – including performance and pacing across all active platforms.
Leverage business intelligence / content performance analytics to ensure measurable ROI through social / digital planning.
Translate content performance metrics into insights-driven content strategies that grow audiences, drive engagement, create value for partners, and drive ROI from paid efforts
Understand user needs, evolving market trends, technology innovations, and competitive offerings to grow and develop new digital strategies.
This position is responsible for increasing overall KPI metrics across all platforms and creating a consistent data reporting structure to ensure organizational awareness on digital efforts.
Partner with AMBSE colleagues, including Atlanta United’s Director of Digital Media Media, to develop and execute content strategies that support organization’s broader efforts to drive ticket sales and help corporate partners achieve measurable business impact.
Collaborate with and support senior leadership across the business, including VP of Football Communications, AMBSE’s VP of Technology, Data & Analytics, the EVP and CEO of AMBSE, and the President, Head Coach and General Manager of Atlanta Falcons.
Ensure integration with all Atlanta Falcons departments, as well as other communications, marketing and community relations leaders across the Blank Family of Businesses.
Required Skills
Proven track record of success in: digital and social strategic planning; managing and building integrated digital and social editorial calendars; growing digital and social KPI metrics; counseling senior leadership on digital and social trends / issues; managing a wide array of digital challenges and opportunities at the same time; collaboration with other communications and marketing disciplines in planning and execution; leading and developing high-performing teams; web development and budget oversight.
Back-end technical and development knowledge for digital and social mediums.
Clear understanding of effective content development and distribution tactics, web technology, and digital media trends.
Deep understanding and application of current and future social and digital trends.
Preferred candidates will possess a strong understanding of digital and social measurement, social/digital media execution and analytics, as well as live event management across multiple platforms.

Experience with personalized and subscription-based products
Experience with leading and managing the day-to-day operations of a full service, digital content studio, and the demands, processes, and needs that are associated with it a plus.

Selected candidate will embrace the fact that the sports and entertainment industry requires flexibility in working extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
12+ years’ experience across multiple digital and social media functions including strategy, digital marketing, web-development, content production and distribution, and/or a related field within a high-paced, demanding professional setting.
Agency experience acceptable.
Google certifications for search, display, video, and / or analytics are a plus.
Demonstrated experience-managing teams, developing talent.
Experience with professional or collegiate sports is required.
