We are seeking a Safer Spaces Team Manager to reduce the incidence of anti-social behaviour, environmental crime and other community safety concerns in order to make the community a safer, cleaner and healthier place for our residents, businesses and visitors.
Main responsibilities include: –
To lead/line manage a team of up to 7 direct reports, a wider house team of up 30 enforcement and CCTV officers plus supporting external 3rd party enforcement staff aligned to the service.
To quality assure case/paperwork, evidence gathering and problem solving undertaken by junior officers.
To oversee, direct and lead on key projects, programmes and problem-solving processes (including days of action and enforcement operations) to effectively improve community safety and reduce crime, working closely with partner agencies responsible for direct service delivery and drawing on best practice and national research.
To be aware of, and keep up to date with, statutory requirements in respect of crime prevention, community safety and CCTV related devleopment/technology, including emerging policy from the Home Office and Ministry of Justice.
To attend court and give evidence as is necessary in support of any court proceedings.
Key Skills and Requirements include: –
A working knowledge/expertise of relevant enviro-crime and anti-social behaviour legalisation and ability to apply this.
A working knowledge of CCTV / public surveillance related operations and legislation.
Proven experience in a front-line community safety, enviro-crime or enforcement type role.
Proven ability to effectively lead, manage and develop a large team of officers.
Able to work outside normal office hours in line with the changing demands of the post, including 24/7 on call cover as required.
