The Operations Manager is a hands-on leadership role for the company as a leading capital equipment contractor in the food and beverage industry. This position manages moderate to highly complex capital improvement field service projects providing production improvements and technical support. This role drives the competitive advantage/growth for the company by managing the scope of the project, creating cost effective and quick turnarounds, provides quality service to the customer, and technical team leadership.Location/Schedule/Travel: This position works remotely from a home locationWork schedule varies and is determined by customer demandTravel may exceed 50% to various locations in the U.S. (travel is company paid)Responsibilities and Essential Duties: · Provides operations leadership in project execution from capture through delivery. Manages overall technical and operational scope of project from defining scope, consultation with management on all phases involved in large scale projects. Conducts project reviews per project plans at all steps of the process.· Builds high performance field technical teams through assignment of roles and responsibilities for achieving performance and company objectives. Manages daily work activities as needed through Team Leader.· Anticipates and resolves problems, ensures cooperation between our technical team and customer to ensure all promises made are kept.· Develops and implements a plan that includes project completion, analysis, budgets, schedules and resources needed to achieve the goals of the project.· Resolves any tensions that may arise through project leadership.· Creates project reviews at completion to review with field technical teams for improvement and effectiveness of daily work activities.· Identifies and mitigates any risk and management opportunity activities· Manages the closure and disposition of any or all equipment including company vehicles, tools, etc.· Manages to a safe work environment ensuring PPE and all safety and environmental objectives are followed.· Complies with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to code of conduct, confidential propriety information, record retention and reporting, documentation, communications to the teams and ownership, follows all policies and procedures as communicated by leadership both verbally and written.· Supports and participates in talent acquisition and onboarding activities as needed, including training, evaluation, coaching, counseling and training/promoting/developing employees.· Performs other administrative, leadership and project responsibilities as assigned.Education, Experience, Skills, Requirements: ·. Bachelor or master’s degree in business, engineering, operational management is preferred.· Relevant experience in project/operations management with a positive track record for growth.· Ability to plan, organize, delegate, pay attention to detail, accuracy in data entry.· Strong relationship building skills, able to resolve conflict and ability to build technical teams.· Critical thinking skills and troubleshooting skills· The ability to deliver better than expected results and motivate to build the same commitment in work teams and peers.· Ability to manage change and redirect teams· Reads, understands, approves release drawings, analysis, test plans and other engineering documentation as needed.Strong working knowledge of Google Docs and MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
