What’s the Job?
The National Accounts Key Account Manager is responsible for creating value and profitability in support of CertainTeed/Saint-Gobain business strategies. These activities will operate across all Exterior Products business and functional departments with an entrepreneurial, customer focused approach to strategic accounts sales throughout the United States.
The National Accounts Manager leads an internal and potentially external sales team in developing mutually-profitable relationships with key accounts within multiple segments in the US construction sector. This role will leverage industry-leading innovation and operational capabilities, as well as a broad global solutions portfolio, to drive business growth across diverse verticals. The right candidate can balance multiple market segments and verticals – Builders, Manufactured Housing, 1-Step Distribution, 2-Step Distribution, Buying Groups, Lumberyards and others channels supporting both Residential and Commercial construction – while supporting distinctly different Business Units and their respective key strategic goals.
Manage corporate relationships with key accounts at multiple levels to secure new business and grow existing business
Establish strong, effective, and collaborative working relationships with customer decision makers
Work in conjunction with CertainTeed leadership to establish strategies and tactics to profitably and sustainably grow our position within key growth segments while remaining cognizant of customer business objectives
Meet/exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
Maintain competitive knowledge of market space to create and adjust sales strategies
Effectively promote existing offerings from a broad, existing product portfolio, while maintaining a critical eye toward increasing future differentiation and value-add.
Through strong relationships with key accounts and general market knowledge, propose and justify new products, services, and strategies that create differentiated customer value, business profit, and expanded market positioning.
Further expand our offerings by negotiating partnerships and develop relationships to provide seamless, complete solutions to customers throughout the value chain
Refine and develop operational and service models to provide effective delivery and coordination of products and solutions to meet the complex demands and production schedules of offsite factories
Provide strategy input on Product Portfolio expansion, Routes to Market, Channel Strategy, and M&A opportunities.
In future, build and lead a sales team focused on driving rapid Y/Y growth
Required Qualifications

What do you bring?
Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field
Deep Building Industry knowledge and 5+ years professional experience in the industry
Corporate account management experience as key contact, preferably in the building industry.
Demonstrated success in new business development at Builders and Distribution (ABC, SRS, Beacon, LMC, ABM, NEMEON, BSC, USLBM), or similar
Experience with B2B RFP/RFQ process
Passion for value-added sales, proven success in both value-added and commodity sales.
Curiosity and capacity to ask questions to drive alternative outcomes.
Customer-obsessed, problem-solver. Ability to understand and empathize with customer needs, as well as think outside of the box to “make it happen” for Key Accounts.
Ability to understand the unique operational models of B2B customers, and through this understanding be seen as a trusted advisor able to propose on-point solutions to the customers’ expressed and not yet expressed pain points.
Strategic mindset – ability to balance short-term wins with medium-term strategies that create business value in terms of market position, and brand, as well as sales.
Ability to successfully navigate and thrive in a matrix organization
Requires ability to use technology as selling tool
Ability to transport up to 50 lbs. of samples and literature
Requires up to 40% national travel, international from time-to-time
