NBC Universal is hiring a Manager, Virtual Channels Operations to help guide the updates, maintenance and continual improvement of channels at our direct-to-consumer streaming service, Peacock.

Peacock’s Virtual Channels team leads the programming, scheduling, operations and measurement of a fast-growing portfolio of 24/7 linear and on-demand video channels streaming an array of entertainment, news and sports content. In developing lean-back program schedules that span Saturday Night Live, Dateline and the WWE, the team plays a key role in establishing Peacock’s leadership in the FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV) channel space.

We are looking for a cool-headed candidate with a track record of identifying and addressing front- and back-end technology issues who can also effectively communicate immediate as well as long-term requirements and enhancements across disparate teams, work hands-on with a wide array of tools that control multiple facets of the product, and streamline processes to improve the internal and the consumer-facing implementations of Virtual Channels.

The Manager, Virtual Channels Operations will wear multiple hats. Responsibilities range from responding to technical and production issues that impact linear and video-on-demand channels, trafficking images, copy and metadata, documenting instructions, updating schedules via backend processes, and sharing information with internal teams and external partners across multiple time zones.

The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience working with streaming media, a positive, solutions-oriented mindset, a familiarity with a range of front- and back-end publishing and content management systems, and a demonstrated ability to serve multiple stakeholders. They will also carry a sense of personal responsibility for the excellence of their work, a keen interest measuring the performance of their efforts and a relentless desire to “work the problem” until resolution.

Responsibilities
Respond quickly and alert appropriate teams when issues arise that impact the front-end and back-end performance across desktop, mobile, connected device and set-top box platforms.
Make hands-on updates using internal and external publishing and content management tools that control schedules, images, copy and metadata.
Own communications across multiple teams including scheduling software, editorial copy and imagery.
Document issues so that they can be addressed in future product updates.
Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum 3 years of working in digital media

Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills with the ability to work flexibly across departments as well as manage internal and external partners in a dynamic environment.

Excellent writing and communication skills.

Ability to operate independently and manage multiple projects

Working knowledge of MVPD, OTT, and SVOD publishing procedures, administration protocols and industry trends

A history of establishing KPIs and targets, and then working to hit those goals.
