Spire Hockey is currently comprised of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and the Rapid City Rush of the ECHL, the premier “AA” professional hockey organization in North America.

Spire and the Greenville Swamp Rabbits seek a Manager of Community Relations. The role will be responsible for grassroots marketing, positive brand image and outreach sales, with the primary goal of building impactful relationships in the community. These relationships will include (but not limited to), schools, nonprofit organizations, business leaders and youth sports.

The Manager of Community Relations will; be extremely personable, an effective multi-tasker, and have a passion for community causes. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter that takes initiative and thinks creatively.

Prospecting to generate new nonprofit relationships; responsible for hosting client meetings and potential client presentations on a regular basis
Generate group ticket revenue through fundraiser sales and outreach programs
Develop and manage structured school programs and campaigns
Plan, develop, and execute strategic promotions and theme nights in support of the ticket sales department.
Provide prompt, thorough, and courteous responses to all inbound & outbound customer communication – phone calls, emails, mail, etc.; maintain high level of customer service to existing and new clients
Perform “game day” responsibilities, including management of the Community Organization of the Night program and other specific theme-related activations
Create and manage a schedule of team events and appearances, including but not limited to; player appearances, mascot appearances, front office/team volunteer opportunities.
Adhere to a donations budget and oversee the process of donation requests / fulfillment

Highly organized, resourceful, detailed-oriented, quick learner and time management skills
Excellent relationship building and customer service skills.
Ability to learn in a team environment and adhere to departmental guidelines
Ability to professionally communicate and interact with all levels of management
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn required business systems
Ability to professionally handle highly sensitive and confidential information

A minimum education level of: BA/BS Degree (4-year)

1-2 years of related work experience; preferably in the sports industry.
Must be able to work game nights, weekends, and holidays, based on an events schedule.
