Your role in the team
Working with the latest technologies, our Marketing Team is a hive of activity working with various companies to bring new customers into William Hill each year. Working closely with our performance marketing team, you’ll own the development of all components and templates used for the marketing landing pages, driving innovation on how to improve the acquisition user journey.
Marketing landing pages are the gateway for our new customers and form the first impression and carry a major significance for our acquisition strategy.
Your technical web development skills are absolutely key to this role. You will create modules and templates with HubSpot CMS, integrating and maintaining standard William Hill code. Your focus will be to create reusable, robust and innovative templates and content which will engage our customers and optimise our acquisition funnel and conversion metrics.
Using your knowledge of digital marketing, you’ll find new ways to improve the user experience and page loading speeds and troubleshoot any user journey or tracking issues on the marketing landing pages. You’ll work closely with the wider marketing tech team and marketing channels to develop our acquisition user journey within the UK and European market.
Skills Needed
You’ll have proven and solid experience of JavaScript coding experience (client-side coding) and be fluent on HTML and CSS. You’ll be competent and confident with GitLab and Jira (or other task management system) and have experience with APIs and feeds. You’ll be able to display dynamic content on the pages and trigger different user experiences based on this.
Using your technical skills and creativity, you’ll be able to create templates which are reusable and seamless on all customer applications. We want someone who can innovate, someone who enjoys the opportunity to create new content. It would be even better if you could show us some examples of your work, or provide examples of features we should be testing on our landing pages.
Here at William Hill we are introducing new technologies and programming languages, so a working knowledge of HubSpot CMS and the ability to transform William Hill code into JavaScript bundles for HubSpot would be an advantage – don’t worry if not, but you’ll need to be willing to learn You’ll also want to develop and be open to change as we evolve our tech stack.
A confident communicator with the ability to work well within a team, you will also work well independently and be able to organise your priorities and projects and deliver to deadlines. You will have excellent attention to detail and be able to create and maintain robust documentation of your work. You’ll be calm under pressure – able to adapt to change as it happens and comfortable taking a flexible approach to your work.
We’re not expecting you to come in and immediately know the exact code required to create unparalleled user experience, but we are looking for someone willing to learn how to do that!
