The Music mission team builds Spotify’s creator platforms and is responsible for ensuring that artists get the opportunity to live off their work. Our Creator products enable artists and their teams to create, connect, and grow their audience. Central to the vision is our offering of promotion tools for artists and labels, powered by Spotify’s deep knowledge of listener preferences and behaviors.
We are looking for an Insights Manager to join the Creator Business Analysis team. You will help run our Analytics arm, supporting our emerging business related to the music industry, and the creators within it. Your work will use our 15 years of unparalleled on-platform audience data to create models, forecasts and analysis that together form our outlook of the future of the music industry. This work will also help influence the priorities and projects undertaken by our product, research and development teams facing the music ecosystem. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music. You’ll also be connected to the broader Spotify insights community to expand the influence of your team’s work.
What you’ll do:
Oversee our foundational research roadmap, including models on the future of the music industry and the actors within it
Supervise the building/maintaining of reports, dashboards and and other KPI business metrics monitoring tools to help us monitor the performance of our business
Partner with our Business Managers on analytics related to our promotion and fan monetization initiatives
Develop forecast models to help us better understand our business
Synthesize insights collaborations to develop and deliver an overarching cohesive data story in order to influence product strategy
Manage a team of Data Scientists, setting focus, strategy and priorities for the team’s work to improve influence and impact.
Develop and lead an outstanding data science & user research team, prioritizing developing a diverse and inclusive environment for them to learn and thrive.
Who you are:
Experience leading insights teams passionate about informing the product development process through qualitative and/or quantitative methods.
A proven background in Data Science with practical chops and are excited to jump into the work alongside your team when needed.
Solid understanding of Data Science in a business context
Passionate about serving creators and improving the music economy for all.
A user- and data-focused mentality. You understand the role and importance of qualitative and quantitative methodologies and when to deploy them.
Experience leading complex pivotal initiatives. Distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills.
An inclusive people leader with a track record of building and developing teams that drive impact.
A phenomenal communicator and have experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering and design partners.
An appetite for learning and evolving in all things. From leadership skills to craft to process to industry and market trends — you never stop pushing into the next big challenge.
