We bring together a team of outstanding professionals who have earned a reputation of responsive and client-focused support for a wide range of homeland security and emergency preparedness agencies. Our client-oriented approach, coupled with our deep subject-matter expertise, enables us to bring an incisive edge to solving the most critical homeland security problems.Our Homeland Security Sector seeks an entry to mid-level professional to support our Maryland Hospital Association client with Hospital Preparedness Program and Regional Health Care Coalition coordination. Candidates will support varied analytical and administrative responsibilities—such as research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and preparing reports and briefings for senior officials and the public.As a Regional Emergency Coordinator for the Maryland Hospital Association (MHA) you will be supporting a team of hospital and emergency management professionals to manage one Regional Health Care Coalition’s Hospital Preparedness Program activities. The mission of the Maryland Hospital Association (MHA) is to serve Maryland’s hospitals and health systems through collective action to shape policies, practices, financing and performance to advance health care and the health of all Marylanders.*Responsibilities: *Act as a shared resource for the regional Health Care Coalitions (HCC) of Maryland which are collaborative networks of healthcare organizations and their respective public and private sector response partners from multiple disciplines including health care, public health, emergency management, emergency medical services, fire, police and others.In conjunction with the Regional Committee Chairs and MHA leadership, coordinate the formulation of strategy and planning for measurable, increased healthcare preparedness and resiliency within Maryland.Ensure coordination between system, regional, and local emergency management programs.Ensure operational readiness by supporting emergency preparedness planning activities across the four regional HCCs.Lead the tracking and documentation of system initiatives, regional, and local regulatory and accreditation compliance as to emergency management requirements.Develop/Draft Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs), operating procedures, and policy content as directed to meet identified strategic goals and operational plans.Ensure that EOPs and other response plans and procedures reviews and consistent across jurisdictions and with state and federal requirements.Ensure alignment of educational/training and exercise programs with existing emergency plans and risk assessments in support of emergency management activities across the system.Assist in the development and facilitation of emergency drills and exercises.Provide support and facilitation expertise in all phases of emergencies (planning, mitigation, response and recovery).Assist in supporting the overall emergency preparedness portfolio and other related duties incidental to the work described herein.Work collaboratively with state partners including but not limited to: Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS), Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP), Maryland Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), and other healthcare associations.Provide basic client management and project performance tasks including adhering to project scopes and timelines under the guidance of the project manager.Qualifications: Required Qualifications: A minimum of eight years with Bachelor’s degree (OR six years with a Master’s degree) of professional experience, with relevant professional experience in an emergency-management or hospital related position.Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree must be in a relevant area, such as political science, public policy, social sciences, homeland security, emergency management, public safety, public health, hospital administration, or other relevant field.Minimum of 1-2 years experience in an emergency management role.Demonstrated understanding of emergency preparedness/disaster response concepts.Demonstrated analytic ability and strong written and verbal communications skills.Must be able to work independently and effectively coordinate projects at the ground level on a daily basis on behalf of the project manager.Understanding of the emergency management and homeland security environment within the public sector and private sector.Experience assessing, developing, or implementing hospital preparedness programs.Understanding of principles, programs, and requirements related to emergency management including mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery, National Incident Management System (NIMS), the Incident Command System (ICS), the National Response Framework (NRF), and National Disaster Response Framework (NDRF)Outstanding written and oral communication skills.Experience summarizing or synthesizing complex or technical information into concise, written productsExperience leading multiple complex and/or time-critical tasks or workstreams, including data analysis and collectionExperience overseeing analysts and interacting with and anticipating the needs of clients.Comfortable holding and conducting meetings, workshops, and daily correspondence with MHA senior leadership.Minimal travel may be required
