DLA Culinary LLC, DBA The Dinner Whisk has an immediate opening for a part-time Experienced Chef to serve our existing weekly clients. As a Personal Chef, you’ll enjoy doing what you love without the long hours and weekends required by the food service industry. You will be able to cook for your personal chef clients in their kitchen and be home in time to eat dinner with your own family. You’ll be able to express your creativity through the client menus you develop, cook from the heart, and be showered with gratitude from your recurring clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to supplement your income by independently cooking for the most grateful clients on a weekday.We are looking for the right candidate and are open to meeting candidates who may have a non-traditional background. You can be a restaurant veteran or a newly retired passionate home cook. If this position appeals to you, please apply, we’d love to hear more about you!Job Duties· As a Personal Chef, you will be assigned a portfolio of clients for whom you will perform the following: custom menu development, grocery shop, meal preparation, food storage and clean up. You will be required to attend prospective client meetings when the schedule allows.· You will come to know your clients likes/dislikes and will become their “go to” Chef resource for their meal needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:o Review and incorporate our client’s tastes, preferences, and dietary requirements into their menu developmento Independently execute personal chef tasks with excellence & efficiency (i.e., grocery shopping, cooking techniques, etc.)o Cook a wide range of menus, cuisines and lifestyle/dietary planso Solicit, accept and integrate client feedback into client menu development and meal executiono Strictly follow food sanitation and safety rules.o Use your own transportation to execute the duties of the positiono Must be available to serve personal chef clients on Monday and/or Tuesday, and/or Wednesday. Qualifications· Must be well groomed and well spoken· 5 -10 years of culinary/cooking experience in a food service environment· Culinary certificate/degree is preferred· Food Handler Certification required; Certified Food Protection Manager preferred.· Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating a warm & friendly personality with a commitment to client service and passion for food & cooking· Must have a deep knowledge of food, cuisines, cooking techniques· Must be able to effectively use technology for communication, menu development and recipe sharing· Must own a reliable vehicle to travel to clients in the metroplex· Must pass a criminal background check· Must have a smart phone for client communication, recipe sharing and receipt submission· Must be able to lift & carry up to 30 lbs. and be on his/her own feet for up to 8 hours· Must have chef tool kit with appropriate knives· (Desired) Candidate with experience cooking at dinner partiesPay and Benefits· This is a part-time position up to 20 hours. Hours are dependent on client load.· Candidate will be paid as a 1099 contractor and will be responsible for paying their own taxes as no federal, state or local taxes will be withheld by DLA Culinary LLC.· Pay rate is per client with a range of $125 – $175 depending on the client meal requirements. Profit sharing may be available and will be paid on a quarterly basis.· Supplemental Pay in the form of client tips (Not guaranteed)· Private dinners and dinner party opportunities will be available and will be compensated on a per event basis.
