Summary: The purpose of the Executive Chef is to be responsible for all culinary operations of multiple restaurants with difficult to complex operations. This position directs and oversees the preparation and standards of all food, manages the culinary and commissary management staff, and performs all other responsibilities as directed by the business or assigned Management. This is an exempt position, and reports to the Senior Director, Operations.Essential Functions: · Ensures integrity of all aspects of food (i.e., taste, temperature, presentation, and speed of production)· Promotes safety and sanitation, oversees the inspection of product handling, establishes and maintains safe food practices, follows HACCP procedures, and ensures NSF Food Safety compliance; reinforces company and franchise standards of operation procedures, as well as those of all applicable regulatory agencies· Oversees the Commissary and serves as a primary contact with food vendors· Orders food and kitchen supplies, monitors prices, and maintains effective cost control, by managing the food management inventory system· Ensures that all products are prepared and presented in accordance with brand or company standards· Supervises day to day activities and identifies hiring, advancement, termination, development, and the promotion of culinary supervisory staff· Establishes effective communication and positive associate relations by ensuring all associate activities are performed in a timely and professional manner, including performance reviews, progressive discipline, resolving associate relations issues, managing incentive programs, associate/staff engagement and training, and executing management and associate development programs as defined by the Director of Operations· Provides the highest quality of customer service at all times, including ensuring the proper training of all staff and supporting associates to ensure customer satisfaction and product qualityMinimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment: Requires a minimum of 5 years managerial or supervisory experience in the culinary/food servicePost-secondary; culinary arts school or four-year university, brand certification, a plusCertified in Serve Safe ManagementDemonstrates organizational skills and multi-project management abilitiesRequires ability to build collaborative partnerships with vendors and other internal departmentsExhibits interpersonal skills, team management, delegation, problem resolution, coaching skills, the ability to motivate others, and to act as a change agentPossess communication and intrapersonal skills required to interpret and train on policies, procedures, and protocolsJob Type: Full-timePay: From $85,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee discountFlexible spending accountFood providedHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offReferral programRetirement planVision insurancePhysical Setting:Casual dining restaurantFine dining restaurantSchedule:HolidaysWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Bonus payCOVID-19 considerations:All customers wear masks, strict cleaning protocols.Ability to commute/relocate:El Segundo, CA 90245: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:Culinary experience: 1 year (Required)Cooking: 1 year (Required)Work Location: One location
