JOB GOALExecutive Chef will be responsible for supporting the Child Nutrition Program for the Harmony school districts.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts from an accredited college or university OR equivalent experience in the fieldMinimum two years of professional or administrative/managerial experienceServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety trainingExperience in child nutrition (preferred)DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Understands and supports the mission, vision and values of Harmony Public Schools.Creates recipes and writes menus in accordance with Texas Department of Agriculture regulations.Oversees purchasing to maintain TDA compliance and budget controlMaximizes usage of USDA Foods in menus.Creates and distributes Food Production RecordsDevelops Standard Operating Procedures and training program for new Kitchen Supervisors and staffSupports the schools with daily program operationsStays current with new culinary trends and recipesPromotes the Child Nutrition program within both Harmony and the community.Coordinates special dietary accommodations in accordance with TDA regulations.Conducts training, both in person and online.Represents Child Nutrition Program at meetings and conferencesMaintains active knowledge of governmental regulations affecting Child Nutrition ProgramsAttends and participates in professional development opportunities.Maintains necessary files and recordsPerforms other duties as assigned.SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to maintain a budget to control costsA deep knowledge of the food industry and trendsAbility to create new menu itemsAbility to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.Ability to analyze data and generate reports.Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skillsWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light Work: may require occasional light lifting.Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.Position is in both an office and kitchen setting.
