Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is a luxurious beachside resort located on the west crescent of the iconic Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. The interior of the resort is inspired by the ancient palaces of Turkey and features hand-painted finishing, Turkish artworks and stunning murals inspired by the Golden Age of the Ottoman Empire. The resort offers 405 rooms and suites, 38 Royal Residences and the award-winning Talise Ottoman Spa, one of the largest and most luxurious spas in the Middle East. About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a colleague to join the Revenue team in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, as Director. You will be responsible for formulating long and short-term Revenue Management strategies of the property and overseeing their successful execution with the goal to maximise revenue, profits, and market share.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
Provides revenue management functional expertise and leadership to General Managers, hotel leadership teams and Market Sales Leaders.
Monitor Market RevPAR performance provide critical analysis of SBU performance against market, submarket and competitor set. Lead the market revenue team in the development of long and short-term strategies to address any deficiencies and to contribute to the ongoing RGI growth.
Oversee the assessment and evaluation of the hotel’s marketplace, competitive environment, and guest preferences. Understand the macro and micro-economic variables affecting supply and demand in the local marketplace. Liaise with 3rd parties such as Local Tourism Authorities, STR and Travelclick and use this knowledge to support accurate forecasting.
Develop strong partnership with Director of Sales/Marketing to formulate and follow-up on the execution of long term and short-term segmentation strategies and source market goals for the cluster.
Active engagement with General Managers to ensure alignment of strategy between cluster and hotel. Maintain regular communication to effectively set, drive, implement and follow-up on agreed strategies.
Communicates brand initiatives, demand, and market analysis to hotel and other stakeholders including owners.
Perform unconstrained demand analysis and determine optimal business mix for the hotel with as aim to maximise overall market performance. Considering optimal and forecasted levels of business from each market segment, work with the Director of Sales/Marketing to direct the sales efforts accordingly.
Conduct price resistance analysis in order to gauge price elasticity of retail demand. Maintain awareness of competitors’ retail prices and observe their pricing strategies. Utilize gained knowledge from above to determine appropriate retail prices on an ongoing basis. Ensure that pricing within all non-retail market segments is correspondingly rationalized against retail rates.
Based on observed demand patterns, apply appropriate inventory management, pricing strategies or other tactics to ensure that seasonal and day-of-week demand peaks are smoothed, and shoulder period revenues thusly enhanced.
Fully utilize the IDeaS RMS in relation to reporting and yielding capabilities and monitor the forecasting and resulting BAR recommendations closely. Ensure that range of rooms “products” distributed by SBU, including room types/classes, packages and promotions are scrutinized for strategic intent and rationality before reaching the marketplace. Continually monitor the effectiveness of all products and their application to market circumstances. Lead the revenue team in the revision of existing products and creation of new products accordingly.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma in Hotel Administration or Business Administration
At least a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a position of direct responsibility for Revenue Management within a five-star hotel/resort.
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, P&L statements, operating budgets, forecasting, and scheduling, and the reporting of financial data.
Skilled at clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media; engaging the audience and helping them understand and retain the message.
