Career InformationUnder administrative and policy direction of the Board of Supervisors, and subject to federal and State laws and regulations and County ordinances, to have authority for the direct administration of the Human Services Department.This is a department head position that is appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The Director of Human Services manages and administers the welfare and financial assistance programs, services, functions, and other activities of the Human Services Department, including Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF): food stamps; and Medi-Cal eligibility and card issuance; Jamison Center; Child Protective Services; foster home licensing; public adoption services; and California Work Opportunities and Responsibilities for Kids (CalWORKs) program.A full description of the job can be found here.*Minimum Qualifications*:*Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences, or public or business administration.Six years executive or administrative experience in a multi-divisional public, private or nonprofit social services agency in a capacity which afforded direct involvement and oversight in the preparation and administration of complex and large budgets; development, implementation, and evaluation of financial assistance and protective service programs; and the management and training of personnel within a large organization; OR any equivalent combination of training and experience.*Preferred Qualifications*:*Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.Possession of a valid California Driver’s License upon appointment.Please ensure applicable materials are attached to your application.
