Hoag, a leading, regional health care system in Orange County, is on a mission to transform the digital ecosystem within health care. Hoag’s philanthropic arm, Hoag Hospital Foundation, is part of this journey and ready to expand reach and deepen connections with Hoag donors and prospects through personalized, elevated digital experiences. The Digital Marketing Director is a new role within the Hoag Hospital Foundation’s Marketing and Communications team. Within this innovative group, you will be responsible for dramatically increasing engagement and donor satisfaction through superior digital communications.
In this new role, you will have the opportunity to re-define how we communicate, engage, steward and cultivate our prospects and donors through both inbound and outbound marketing, with a primary focus on Web, email, social and push experiences. You will create a seamless donor and customer journey. Partnering with teams across the Foundation and Hoag, you will help determine the infrastructure and processes required to enable these new opportunities and the right level of connectivity across marketing capabilities. You will help shape the Foundation’s digital strategy and build strong partnerships across Foundation, hospital and external teams to deliver on it.
Key Responsibilities:
In partnership with the Executive Director, create a growth strategy for the Foundation’s digital presence
Understand the needs of the business to develop the strategy for a best-in-class UX and ensure we are constantly evolving and optimizing marketing efforts
Oversee and execute content creation for online channels as well as email communications
Develop and implement digital campaigns
Manage relationships with developers, programmers, videographers, graphic designers and other vendors
Launch, lead and be an expert in Sales Force Marketing Cloud
Create “thumb-stopping” results
Direct and manage digital campaign journeys and marketing channels to ensure brand consistency
Own Web management and the launch of a new Foundation website
Manage and create microsites for special events and other initiatives
Own digital content development and execution, creating content across different formats and channels, partnering with writers and designers
Manage and coordinate social media, develop organic content to drive philanthropic consideration
Oversee social response and moderation
Monitor competition and provide ideas to stand out and be ahead of others in the market

Skills and Experience
5+ years of work experience in digital and content marketing management
Passion for understanding customer and donor behavior, evaluating the external marketplace, and designing what great marketing looks like
Ability to bridge technical expertise with design-thinking customer experience to deliver efficient solutions
Knowledge of and passion for innovation and latest trends happening in the web, social and marketing space
Creative with proven success in defining a digital marketing strategy
An editorial eye for content quality
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to work with stakeholders across different functions and with colleagues at all levels
History of high performance and an internal strive for excellence in work produced
Strong thought leadership in the digital space
Exceptional skill in driving results against aggressive timelines, managing multiple priorities and executing flawlessly
Deep understanding of marketing channels – email, social and site
Technical knowledge of modern web platforms (inclusive of HTML and high level comfort with Javascript frameworks, content management systems, etc.)
HTML and web publishing
Bachelor’s Degree required
