This is an exciting opportunity to lead a busy IT support team in a leading research university.
The Customer Support Officer (CSO) Team provides first-line, face-to-face support to staff and post-graduate students on a wide range of IT Services. The team is also responsible for providing second-line support based in our IT workshop, where the team processes laptops, PCs and other devices and support AV equipment in our teaching rooms.
Alongside taking part in the above duties and leading the team with these activities, it is expected that the role will be a good mix of support and small projects; you will be covering a wide range of activities and meeting a wide range of people. You will take the lead in many technical projects and challenges for example imaging and deploying a suite of computers across the school. You will be required to manage the workload of the team as well as your own and to perform line management duties.
This role would suit an individual who has some line management or supervisor experience and a background in IT. The CSO Team Leader is required to be customer and service focused, the ability to ensure a high level of standard and practice being carried out by the team and possessing good communication skills for both internally within the team and IT Services and also the wider school.
The post is full time and permanent.
The salary will be on the Professional salary scale /Academic pathways Grade 6 in the range £40,611 – £46,119 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
