The ideal candidate is a creative, conceptual thinker who collaborates well across teams to ensure the end product is of the highest quality. With a strong attention to detail and passion for design across many mediums, the role is an active participant in project execution, direction, and is a key member of the product team. The position will also be responsible for identifying freelance writers and overseeing their work as well as managing the freelance budget.The ideal candidate will have a passion for the health and wellness category. You should be analytics-minded, comfortable monitoring, reporting traffic goals (via Google Analytics and Parsley); executing e-commerce strategies with affiliate links; and identifying editorial and social growth opportunities for the web site.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLeads the creative development and execution of Outside’s healthy living properties — both interactive and print design — in close collaboration with editors and production under the guidance of the Group Creative DirectorManages a team of creatives in the execution of workBuild, lead, and review work of the creative team in the production of web, print, and digital marketing collateralCollaborate across departments in developing award-winning designBring a strategic lens to the creative process: understand market forces and how to capture attention and retain interest via designEstablishes brand-appropriate creative approaches: is constantly staying ahead of the market in terms of design layout, readability and is on the lookout for cutting-edge design techniquesParticipates in production meetings, creative discussions, strategy discussionClearly articulates design decisions that are backed up with strategic supporting evidence, insight, and rationaleCommunicates with various vendors (photographers, illustrators, production, editors etc) to coordinate the execution of print and digital deliverablesSupports new business pursuits — supporting and participating in creative concepting, asset development, and presentation decksPlays a critical role in advancing success as a creative and strategic partner to the readers and customers we serveQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS5-7 years of related experience with a focus on creative direction in media, agency or corporate settingExperience working in media: understanding of production requirements for print and digital mediaComfortable overseeing production and budgets with a focus on due datesWell-versed in creating integrated content across all marketing channels from digital, social media, paid media, mobile, but also understand offline and printProven experience with concept developmentHighly skilled with leading a team of creative talentStrong creative vision with an understanding of business objectivesExpert-level skills in Adobe Creative Suite and appropriate design software systems. Previous experience working in Asana, or similar project management tool, a plus.Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $60,000 to $80,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission . Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away, sick leave, and more.
