As a national team the Commercial function sits within the finance directorate and is part of the finance systems team.
The Commercial Manager will support the work of the Senior Commercial Manager in providing robust procurement and contracting assurance across HEE.
This post will provide an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to be part of the HEE Commercial function where their input will be instrumental to its success.
This will be a key role in working with colleagues across HEE to award contracts that meet key deliverables such as value for money and quality service outcomes for HEE across a wide range of spend categories.
This post can be based at any of our HEE bases excluding London.

Additional duties include:
Ensuring that appropriate contracts are put in place that meet HEE business needs and that relevant stakeholders are informed and involved in on-going supplier management.
Identifying the commercial strategy and a rolling programme of areas to be addressed within the relevant category of spend.
Engaging with HEE business colleagues in the detailed contractual issues including development and implementation of category and procurement strategies.
Delivering the category strategy including planning and sourcing activities which generate benefits and achieve financial savings targets through insight and analysis of category and sub-category areas.
Drafting detailed reports to ensure the results of spend analysis are used to inform category and procurement strategies.

Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 8a with a full-time starting salary of £47,126, with a pay step increase after 5 years’ service. These salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.
