Bryan’s House is a nationally accredited early education program that primarily serves children with special needs.Primary Responsibilities: Maintains a keen awareness of children that have allergies and food restrictions. Offers substitute items to children who may be allergic or have other food restrictionsPrepares and follows nutritionally sound and culturally diverse meal plansFollows portion control standards for breakfast, lunch and snacks in preparationIs adaptable and implements changes in menus, if neededEnsures that each meal is ready to be served when scheduledPlaces food/supply orders and is able to calculate the amount neededMaintains an orderly, clean and safe kitchen area at all times, including the proper maintenance of equipmentCompletes food program paperwork in a timely and complete mannerAttends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functionsMaintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to agency guidelinesAssists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessaryFollows all agency, licensing, accreditation, and CACFP guidelinesDesired skills and experience: Must meet basic requirements of local child care and food service regulatory agenciesAbility to relate positively to young children is essentialPrevious experience in quantity food preparation is preferredMust be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situationsJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Dallas, TX 75212: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:Culinary experience: 1 year (Required)Cooking: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
