Chief Marketing Officer Job Vacancy at Corporate Tools (Spokane, WA)
Vacancy : Chief Marketing Officer
Company Name : Corporate Tools
Company Location : Spokane, WA
Job Description
Overview:
Corporate Tools is searching for a Chief Marketing Officer. We are a privately held, debt-free, self-funded company that has grown 780 percent over the last 3 years. A good marketing feat by itself, but extraordinary once you get into some of the details. We’ve accomplished this growth without having a single employee with the word “marketing” in their job title. Crazy or brilliant, you decide. But we’ve managed to grow impressive amounts with an impressive group of talented folks willing to use their skillset to advance the company in whatever way made sense. We have about 50-75 people that you could say fall under the marketing umbrella that have been doing marketing without really thinking of it as marketing.
As we keep scaling, it feels like the right time to hire a CMO. Like an actual CMO. A couple years ago we wouldn’t have been ready, but we are today. What seems really unique about this position is you have a blank slate. You could make a marketing group how you’ve always thought it might be made. Yet, you already have a very skilled team and about a 40 million a year budget at your disposal. And you’re currently kicking everyone’s rear. Like, we pick up twice the market share of our first closest competitor. So you get to join a winning team. And if someone picks a fight, we typically throw the budget out the window and just duke it out. We’re family owned and operated, so no investors, no debt. Just the game, and the game is fun.
We’d like you to be extremely skilled at marketing with the experience of having run larger campaigns and navigated companies with 500+ employees. We’d like you to eventually help come up with some of the vision, but that would be some time down the road after you truly get what we do and who we market to.
This position is coded as “Hybrid” which means after initial training and on-boarding, occasional remote work is available. However, this role will be expected to continue to work in our Spokane, WA office 2-3 days/week.
Wage:
Up to $225,000/year depending on alignment with preferred experience listed below. We aren’t a startup or an investor owned company, so there are no shares or bonus structure as part of the compensation package.
Benefits:
100% employer-paid medical, dental and vision for employees
Annual cost of living increase
Annual review with raise option
22 days Paid Time Off
After 3 years, PTO increases to 29 days. Employees transition to flexible time off after 5 years with the company—not accrued, not capped, take time off when you want.
Paid Maternity and Paternity Leave
4% company matching 401(k) with no vesting period
Quarterly “Work Wherever” allowance
Use to make your remote work wherever set up more comfortable, for continuing education classes, a plant for your desk, coffee for your coworker, a massage for yourself… really, whatever.
Creative environment where you can make a difference
No dumb benefits like free dog walking on the weekends that snobby hipster places have to make you feel cool, but mathematically won’t cost the company much money because you won’t use it.
Trail Mix Bar – oh yeah.
Responsibilities:
Drive our marketing
Lead an existing team of 50-75 employees and growing
Run a $40+ million budget
Inspire, motivate and direct a largely remote workforce
Connect with 2 million plus business customers
Generate revenue by increasing sales through various marketing channels
