You will be an authority of a balanced Business Group with a focus on performance and work winning. Provides strategic vision and guides direction of travel for group development. Promotes success through the delivery of projects that meet or exceed client expectations using staff resources and solutions to achieve profitable outcomes for GHD in line with our core values and culture.
The role will be based in the UAE and be responsible for the Infrastructure and Transport business across the Middle East.
The Business Group Leader is a direct report of the Operations Manager and the line manager for the Team Leaders allocated to their Business Group. The Business Group Leader collaborates with the Market Development Leader and Sector Leaders to identify opportunities, build pipeline and increase backlog commensurate with business needs and growth targets.
Your responsibilities include:
Ensure the safety and well-being of GHD’s people and visitors within the Business Group.
Develop and implement the Business Group strategy and business plan.
Lead the development of GHD’s performance and work winning culture within the Business Group.
Working with Technical Service Leaders, develop short and long-term capability, advising the acquisition of skills to support future growth.
Contribute to GHD’s corporate profile development in the Business Group’s Market Sector(s).
Working closely with the Market Development Leader and Sector Leaders, lead the development and execution of market strategies and client pursuit plans.
Lead and undertake relationship building and work winning with clients.
Monitor the technically and commercially sound delivery of projects and promotes client satisfaction.
Supports and coaches Team Leaders to deliver utilisation, engagement and performance targets across their teams.
Develop and mentor Project Managers and Project Directors to deliver quality work on time/budgets.
Manage risk in compliance with GHD policies and guidelines.
Promote innovation within the Business Group including the deployment of data-led solutions harnessing automated, digital and technological solution delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will posses:
Strong domain knowledge and experience relating to Infrastructure and Transport.
Ability to set direction, communicate strategy and inspire confidence.
Strong communication, relationship building and influencing skills with all levels of management.
Capacity to plan, lead and manage within a 1-3 year time horizon.
Capacity to deal with complexity in an operational environment.
Ability to deal with (lead and manage through) ambiguity.
Resilient and adaptable.
Strong reputation within market/sector and technical area, credible with target clients.
15 years experience in the infrastructure and transport sector.
Excels in successful work-winning, pipeline development and client acquisition.
Proven experience of developing and implementing business strategies and plans and driving performance.
Strong track record of leading and managing medium (20-100) sized teams and achievement of performance targets.
