Job Description
The USC Office of Cultural Relations and University Events produces events that maintain a centralized standard of excellence, quality and protocol for the Office of the President, the Senior Vice Presidents, University Relations, the USC Alumni Association, USC Associates, deans and development officers, by creating favorable environments for donors and friends of USC and enhancing the prestige and goodwill of the university.
Our office is seeking a Budget Technician to join its team. This individual will report to the Department Business Manager. This position is responsible for assisting in all financial aspects of our department including accounting, financial operations, and budgeting
This position requires a candidate with exceptional organizational and communication skills and willingness to act as an ambassador of the University. A successful candidate will have experience in USC’s financial policies and procedures, skill in the use of its online financial, HR and reimbursement systems.
Job Summary:
Prepares, processes, and follows up on financial transactions related to event budgets
Assists the Department Business Manager in reconciling event budgets
Processes weekly credit card deposits and provides deposit reports to our clients
Processes monthly journals
Assists in overseeing the front office when requested
Assists with processing staff monthly reimbursements
Other duties as assigned or requested; the university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in University Financial policies, procedures and using its online systems.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Experience: 2 years

Minimum Education: High school or equivalent, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 2 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related office financial experience to provide a knowledge of accounts payable, income and expense accounting and reconcilement, and budget preparation.
