Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Accountant – Finance

Key Accountabilities
Handle the day-to-day bookkeeping to maintain accurate, complete and timely financial information to achieve overall department objective. Responsible for processing, validating and entering financial entries through the system.

Responsible for timely preparation of all standard / recurring month end journal entries, arranging to obtain management approvals before being posted in the system.
Prepare various reconciliations such as bank reconciliation, customer, supplier and detailed account reconciliation on periodic basis to ensure accuracy and completeness and process necessary reconciling journal entries.
Maintain and ensure documents and records are retained through filing and storage and available for review as per company document retention policy.
Conduct month end closing activities so that all transactions must be reflected and in line with monthly reporting timelines.
Responsible for daily generation of invoices and customer statements for all customers of EKFC on the ERP and Customer Portals as appropriate. Ensure the raised invoice accuracy prior to dispatch and follow up for the payments to ensure timely collection.
Ensure timely and accurate recording of supplier invoices, ensure to obtain approvals as per the Delegated Authority prior to recording the invoices in system.
Contribute by responding, co-ordinating & investigating requests/queries received from the stakeholders

Essential Requirements & Competencies

Bachelor degree in accounting or commerce or equivalent
At least 2 years’ experience in the area of Finance
Sound book keeping knowledge
Knowledge of advanced excel functions
MS Office proficiency
ERP experience in Finance Modules
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to effectively interact with employees and stakeholders
Understanding of VAT rules and application on transactions
