Our Client is seeking a Accounts Payable Manager for a 6 month contract in Manhattan, NY.Available to start ASAP!Main Purpose of the Role: Supervise, train and motivate Accounts Payable staffAct as liaison between Accounts Payable and internal and external parties, including suppliersOversee department activities such as disbursing wires, ACH, and checks, and ensure they are completed accurately and timelyMaintain accurate and complete records regarding payments to suppliers and employeesResearch and resolve invoice discrepancies and issuesCompile, analyze and report financial information to management as neededDevelop, implement, improve and enforce budgets, policies and department controls to increase accuracy and efficiencyAssist with month end closingProvide supporting documentation for auditsBuild and maintain relationships with employees and vendorsOptimize department processesLead by exampleEmbrace Firm initiatives such as Inclusion & DiversityComply with, and ensure all staff in the department comply with, the Company’s policies and procedures as well as all rules and laws emanating from any of the regulatory authorities.Embrace change and drive innovations – adopt the philosophy of continuous improvement.Operate in a transparent manner and strive to assist team members and colleagues to deliver the best outcome to the Firm, its Clients, Investors and Regulators.Maintain confidentiality where required, whether business related or relating to staffing issues.Work collaboratively with other colleagues in the region and internationally to ensure we are operating as one.Essential: BS/BA or MS/MBA in Accounting required.5 – 8 years of progressive Accounts Payable experience in large, complex banking or financial institutions.Possess excellent communication skills and comfort interfacing with senior management.Strong systems and product knowledge as it relates to the securities industry.FINRA Series 99 required – can be obtained after joiningJob Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $45.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftEducation:Bachelor’s (Required)Experience:Accounts payable: 5 years (Required)Financial sector: 5 years (Required)Banking: 5 years (Required)Work Location: One location
